How the Session Works

Surface the friction

We name what’s feeling stuck, unclear, or costly right now: where it shows up, who it impacts, and what you’re seeing on the ground.

Name the patterns
Choose 2-3 focus areas
Recommend next steps

We look beneath the symptoms to identify the repeating dynamics that are driving the friction. This is where things get clearer and less personal.

We translate what we found into a short set of practical focus areas: the first shifts that will create momentum without overwhelming the system.

We’ll name what’s worth testing next and the right container to move forward.

In 90 minutes, we move through a simple, structured flow:

Clarity

What's happening + the patterns driving it

You'll walk away with:

Focus

Two to three shifts to start with

Testable assumptions + the next right container

Who should attend

This is a working session, not a presentation, so the best room is small. Invite the people who (1) see what’s happening up close, (2) can speak honestly, and (3) can take action afterward. We recommend including:

  • a sponsor / decision-maker

  • a culture operator (People Ops, Operations, Chief of Staff, or team lead)

  • 1–3 leaders or stakeholders closest to the challenge

Optional: one cross-functional partner, or a thoughtful skeptic who’s trusted and constructive.

Ideally 2–5 people
Who not to invite (for this first step)

Skip the large group “just to include everyone,” observers who won’t participate, or anyone whose presence makes the room feel guarded. If psychological safety is shaky, we’ll design the room to protect candor and keep the conversation real.

Frequently asked questions

What should we bring or prep ahead of time?

Nothing heavy. After you book, we’ll send a short set of prompts so you can share context in 5–10 minutes. Come ready to speak honestly about what you’re noticing and what you want to be different.

Is this session confidential?

Yes. What’s shared in the session stays in the session. If you want a shareable recap for broader stakeholders, we’ll write it in a way that protects candor and focuses on patterns, not personalities.

Will you tell us what’s wrong with our culture?

We’re not here to shame or blame. We’re here to help you name what’s happening, understand the patterns underneath, and identify a practical starting point for shifting.

What if we don’t have alignment in the room?

That’s common and useful. Misalignment is data. The session is designed to surface where people are seeing different realities, build shared language, and land on first moves you can actually practice.

What happens after the session?

You’ll leave with a clear recommendation for next steps based on what we uncover. Some teams stop there because they just needed clarity and language. Others move into a deeper sprint, usually listening, diagnosis, and alignment, so the shift is supported by real input, not guesses.

Is this right for my organization’s size?

Yes. This session works across organization sizes because it focuses on patterns, not headcount. It’s especially useful for small-to-mid sized teams where culture friction shows up fast and decisions move quickly. If you’re a larger organization, it’s still a great first step—just treat it as a starting point with a small core group, then we’ll recommend the right next container to widen alignment and gather broader input.

Can we use this session to decide whether we want to work together?

Absolutely. That’s one of the main reasons this exists. The Culture Shift Session is a low-risk way to experience our approach, get real value immediately, and decide what the next best step should be, whether that’s a deeper sprint with Culture Shift Studio or a path you take internally.
